Subaru Upper Engine Cleaner.

Remove this little rubber "gromet" and do as the instructions say on the back of the can. It's very easy to do to.

The can costs under $20 and you get it from Subaru. You'll definately feel the difference once you have done this to your car!! Subaru recommends that this be done every 12,500km/6 month service. So save yourself some money and do it yourself.

Using Upper Engine Cleaner -UEC

*It will help to remove hot spots and the increases in the compression ratio which will result in the car 'pinging'.
*Cleans out all the oil and , varnish and carbon in the intake manifold
* it also helps to reduce rough idle.

This is the method for applying the UEC to a GC8

1) warm the car up to your normal operating temperature.
Turn ignition off.

2) Get a rag to place under the vacuum pipe, and also under the UEC to catch any spillage.

3) Spray a HALF a can into the vacuum pipe then let the car stand for 5mins.

4) After 5mins turn the car back on. (This may take a few goes using the accelerator to kick it over). it will blow smoke out of the exhaust and it's very stinky, but this is OK, it does burn up eventually.
With the car still running rev it up slightly using the accelerator cable lever and spray the rest of the can in.
Don't let the car stall whilst doing this and you only need to rev it enough to keep the car from stalling. ( may be easier getting a mate to do this or if youre like me and the ONLY captain of your ship, use the acc. cable.)

5) Once the can is empty, turn off the car and let sit for a further 10mins.
Put the vacuum hose back into place, and make sure you remove the rag too!
After 10mins take the car for a drive.
It's recommended that you go about 20kms as this will drive the UEC all through the system.
You should noticeably feel more pull in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
Very dirty intakes may need a 2nd treatment.

VERY, VERY EASY!!

in MYO3 + the vacuum hose is connected to to the steel connector as shown in one of the above posts.

Happy cleaning!!
