Riding on the success of the first Gymkhana Practice video that grabbed the attention of over 20 million viewers worldwide, the Gymkhana TWO video takes infomercials to the next level. Unlike other infomercials, this one sells the products with great action, cinematography, and a dramatic driving performance—and, no stereotypical cheesy informercial pitchman!

Produced specifically to market Blocks first-ever Rally TeamWorks Collection, the new video is filled with great driving stunts, surprises, explosions, and a guest appearance from DC team rider, Rob Dyrdek. Filmed at the Port of Los Angeles, expect non-stop motor sport eye-candy as Block hits the all-new course in a custom tuned, high performance, and brand-new Subaru Impreza WRX STI. Visit dcshoes.com/gymkhanatwo for more photos and info on the high-performance video and Blocks complete Teamworks Collection.

We all have our embarrassing moments. Most, however, aren’t quite as public as Petter Solberg’s mishap last month at the Bettega Memorial Rallysprint in Bologna, Italy. The 2003 WRC champion was taking some parade laps and waving to the crowd when he decided it was a good idea to get on the roof of his car. He managed the task with relative ease, but quickly found that getting back into the car posed much more of a problem. With Subaru pulling out of WRC in 2009, let’s hope this isn’t our last memory of Solberg piloting a rally car.

There are a remarkable number of crap car videos floating around the intertubes, so it takes a special breed of driving deity to make something that catches our attention. Card-carrying member of the automotive master race, Ken Block, did just that by setting up an utterly insane Gymkhana course around El Toro and then proceeds to flog the life out of his Crawford-prepped Subaru Impreza STI through countless turns, drifts and 360s to create over four minutes of pure motoring bliss. The video speaks for itself, so hit the jump to check it out. And if you want to get inside the mind of the man, head over to 0-60 to read a brief interview of Block and his madcap run.

Funnily enough, these guys aren’t the only ones to ever use a box truck to ruinous effect on an automobile. These Subaru movers went all the way, using what looks like folding cafeteria tables as a makeshift ramp. Everyone involved received a compound physics lesson when 3,000 pounds of automobile met an unsecured and poorly constructed ramp, overcoming whatever friction was holding that Rube Goldberg assemblage together, and the little Rex topped it off with a refresher course in gravity. Whoops. At least it looks like the car was already banged up. Say it with us now: “that’ll buff out.”

It’s no secret that running a motorsports team is a lot of work, but probably most of us don’t know how much time and effort it really takes. Just building the race cars can take hundreds of man hours, as evidenced by this stop-motion video created by the U.S. Subaru rally team. Starting with a stock 2008 WRX STI, the team strips the car down to its frame by removing the engine, drivetrain, interior and even the windshield. The complete transformation takes an amazing 800 hours of labor. Knowing that makes us cringe even more when we see one roll end over end.

Click here to see the video.

The Subaru WRX STI has the speed and agility to be a track star, but on dirt, few machines on earth can keep up with the sprightly little screamer. The impressive little Scooby can scoot just like the last-gen model, but now it does it with a refinement the old model lacked. For fans and foes of the AWD pocket rocket, team Subie made a one-minute video tribute to the coolness that is STI. Hit the jump to view some seriously amazing jumps, flips, spin-outs, crashes, and power slides featuring the old car that concludes with the ‘08 ride tearing up the tarmac. If you don’t want to go drive an STI after watching this clip, you may be dead.

WRC teams are gearing up in Greece ahead of this week’s Acropolis rally, and just before its world racing debut, Subaru has released the details on its all-new Impreza rally car. The highlights of the Impreza WRC2008 include a 1994cc turbocharged flat four, running an IHI turbo equipped with the WRC-mandated 34mm restrictor plate and Subaru’s own anti-lag system to produce 300 hp at 5,500 rpm and… wait for it… 479 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,000 rpm.

Power is sent to a six-speed electro-hydraulic transmission, through an electronically controlled center diff and down to the wheels through mechanical differentials, fore and aft. Bos shocks are being used in conjunction with the front and rear MacPherson setup, while AP Racing, 310mm discs are clamped by six-piston calipers both in front and in the rear. BBS wheels are fitted at all four corners, with 15-inchers used for gravel stages and 18-inch rollers for tarmac attacks. The rally racer’s weight is set at the WRC minimum of 2,712 pounds. As always, you can follow the progress of the Impreza and the rest of the teams at the WRC website.

Check out this video of the Subaru Impreza WRC2008 at the Acropolis Rally Shakedown:

Without a doubt what you see on this this video exceeds all legal speeds and highly risky to attempt. Though its very impressive none the less. At the end of the Video, flip through couple of other WRX videos which are equally impressive. Seat belts, Parachute On! Enjoy.
