Airlie Beach Mega Cruise II

This was an awesome cruise, there were no major hitches and everything went pretty well on the day. Was good to catch up with everyone from Townsville, Rocky, Gladstone, Ayr, Moranbah etc…

We met up with the Rocky and Gladstone contingents at Mackay Subaru, from there we had a total of 15 cars, so already the cruise was looking very impressive. We then headed to the Shell servo on the outskirts of Mackay to fuel up and regroup. The trip to Proserpine went well, as the road works at Calen were just about finished up so there were no loose rocks to worry about.

Once we got to Proserpine and the Townsville crew was found, we pointed them in the right direction to where the main contingent was parked up. Then we all had a chat and food etc then headed off to Peter Faust Dam with a total of 21 cars.

Out at the Dam we all got some pretty impressive pics of all the cars and had a good chat and catchup out there. Lew, Michaela and Allan also got some good drive by footage, which i hope to get a hold of soon… Then we headed to Airlie and Shute Harbour to finish off the run and say good byes to some of the group. The Sunday night was a good night out as well, we all had a few drinks and dinner together at the local restaurants and clubs. On the Monday, a couple of the guys went on the Quad Bikes and had a great time. For the rest of us, we headed home. All in all it was a really good weekend. Cant wait to do it again. Cruise #6, 27th November 2005, Eungella Range

On our return to Eungella & Teemburra Dam we had a number of cars turn up for the day. We met up at the new Subaru dealership at North Jacklin in Mackay and checked out the new shape of the MY06 WRX.

Once everyone had arrived we departed on our trip up to Eungella with 5 cars, including a member of the RockyWRXtcy club who traveled up for the day. The twisties up the Eungella range were great fun, everybody made it up in one piece.

For lunch we stopped in at the Chalet briefly, then we headed over to the Fish & Chip shop for some munchies. Before leaving we made a trip up to Teemburra dam through some more nice twists and turns for a few more photos. View the Gallery.

Cruise #5, 31st July – Southern Beaches

The 5th cruise went well with 5 cars cruising around the southern beaches. The Sarina Range was by far the highlight of the trip, with plenty of twisties to rival the fun of the Eungella Range. The day finished up in Sarina at the local Tavern where we had lunch and a chat.

Cruise #1 Eungella & Teemburra Dam a success!
