I hope that not too much damage was caused to our members and their families and friends after the flooding that was last week, but this is probably not the case as this devastating flood has left many people in the Mackay area without a home to live in or a car to drive in the meantime. My family and friends also bore the brunt of the flooding with several of their cars inundated and also their homes as well. The clean up will take quite a while, and they are lucky that the bureau of meteorology has deemed the event to be a storm event and not flooding, so many insurance agencies are actually coughing up with the dough. Good news for those in East Mackay where it was not possible to get insurance cover for flooding.
